Roski to be Featured on Australian TV Show Colour in Your Life

Graeme Stevenson and Sophia Stacey of the Australian television show “Put Some Colour in Your Life” visited Gayle Garner Roski in her studio to film a special segment of the program.

“Colour in Your Life” travels around the globe to film artists in their studios, in order to create a digital record of their creative spirit, culture and techniques for future generations.

The episode about Roski will be broadcast in Australia on November 22.

Roski to Participate in Exhibition of 13 Women Artists

Gayle Garner Roski is one of 13 artists who will be spotlighted in the exhibition A Woman’s Perspective: Empowering The Female Vision, on view at MRG Fine Art in Sherman Oaks, California, from October 14 to 28.

The exhibit features a diverse group of women of different generations with an eclectic mix of artistic visions, themes and mediums. Other artists participating in the display are Megan Frances Abrahams, LK Artist, Bonita Helmer, Linda Jacobson, Carolyn Mary Kleefeld, Leslie Labowitz-Starus, Leigh Salgado, Lucy Sharf, Allyson Rowen Taylor, Rebecca Tillman-Young, Ann Thornycroft and Kara Wall.

Paintings from Roski’s “Ribbons” series will the showcased in the exhibition, as ribbons symbolize the generosity of giving and the child-like excitement of anticipation.With this body of work, she strives to capture these impressions of harmony and turn them into affirmations of the beauty of life and hope and joy for the new chapters in life.

Roski Travels to Guatemala with Operation Walk

Gayle Garner Roski recently traveled to Guatemala with a dedicated group of volunteers with Operation Walk, which gives the gift of mobility to those in need of hip and knee replacements. 

Her role was to document in paintings the valiant efforts of the surgeons, nurses, physical therapists and other medical professionals, who performed more than 50 surgeries and provided both pre-op and post-op care, including physical therapy.

Her paintings will soon be published in a book that illustrates how Operation Walk gives its patients a second chance at life.

Roski Interview Airs April 22 on Crown City News Sunrise

Ann-Marie Villicana of “Crown City News Sunrise” interviewed Gayle Garner Roski for an arts segment that will air Saturday, April 22, during the 6 a.m. broadcast of the talk show. Roski spoke with Villicana about her watercolor paintings, currently on view at three different venues in the Los Angeles area, as well as her children’s book illustrations. Roski to Exhibit in 106th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition

Gayle Garner Roski is one of more than 160 artists who will participate in the historic California Art Club’s 106th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, to be unveiled on Sunday, April 9,  at the Autry Museum of the American West. Roski’s Gold Medal painting, Quan Yin in Blue, features a image of the beloved Chinese Goddess of Mercy. The exhibition will be on view through April 30.

Roski Documents The Healing Journey in an Exhibition for a Santa Monica Hospital

Gayle Garner Roski documents “The Healing Journey” in a special exhibition at Providence St. John’s Health Center to celebrate the 75th anniversary of this noted Santa Monica hospital. The display features 40 watercolor paintings of imagery from Santa Monica to Malibu, which offers a continual view of the meditative tranquility of the ocean, and, in turn, restores a sense of wellbeing.

For Roski, this transformative journey, which immerses the viewer into the healing powers of being outdoor in nature, begins at the McClure Tunnel in Santa Monica. Upon exiting this transition from the 10 Freeway to Pacific Coast Highway, a spectacular view of the ocean is revealed. As one winds along the coast toward Malibu, the mind and body begin to relax, which rejuvenates the spirit and restores a sense of wellbeing.

Gayle Garner Roski was one of four artists featured in an “LAaRT” segment about the historic California Art Club.  The episode of this PBS SoCal program that covers art and culture first aired on Monday, February 27, 2017. An encore broadcast will air on Friday, March 3, 2017, on KOCE-TV.

Roski to Exhibit in Masters of the American West at the Autry

Gayle Garner Roski will exhibit in the Autry Museum’s Masters of the American West 2017 Exhibition and Sale, which will spotlight her new series of watercolors inspired by the Hopi and their colorful kachina dolls that represent katsinas – immortal beings that control elements of the natural world. This year’s exhibition represents the tenth time that Roski has participated in this display, which showcases the work of 76 renowned Western artists.
